Hi, i’m michelle.

Education + Experience = Dating Consultation.

EDUCATION

I earned my bachelor's degree in social work from the University of St. Thomas and my master’s degree in social work from the University of St. Thomas/College of St. Catherine’s in 2012. I am currently a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I love the one-on-one nature of my job and have a private practice where I work primarily with adults and couples and their relationship struggles. I also work as a mental health therapist for adolescents. I’ve worked with adolescents and adults who have struggles with self-harm and suicidality, substance abuse, anger management and have worked with people experiencing domestic abuse. My therapeutic philosophy is if you are reacting and functioning in a way that is causing you problems, we have to look back to understand how it developed and heal from there. I specialize in attachment and trauma.

EXPERIENCE

I’ve always been told I have high social intelligence which is defined as "the capacity to know oneself and to know others." Social Intelligence develops from experience with people and learning from success and failures in social settings. It is more commonly referred to as "tact," "common sense" or "street smarts." I was convinced by a friend several years ago to go speed dating, and it turned out to be exactly what I expected. I met a lot of men, including a man who only worked and worked out, a man living in a group home, and a man with a band-aid on his nose. During that experience, all I wanted to do was provide some feedback and help, because I knew underneath it all, they each struggled with a lack of confidence, awareness, and/or experience. I have been in long-term relationships, short flings, and on dating sites. I have seen what’s out there and I truly believe there is someone for everyone.

DATING CONSULTATION

I am NOT perfect, but given my professional background and experience I can help you build confidence around dating. I believe with the right feedback and coaching, anyone new to dating, and/or continuing to face common themes like nervousness, anxiousness or simply being uncomfortable around new people can feel more confident in the dating world.
